Baseline Expectations for eduroam-US are a set of shared, community-created commitments that eduroam-US Subscribers agree to uphold, spanning service quality, accurate contact information, attribute privacy, user accountability, gracious hosting, and community responsibility.

As of spring 2026, the national average per-device reject rate across eduroam-US sites is roughly 21% on the service provider side and 32% on the identity provider side. Not every reject is a problem, since expired or misconfigured clients are correctly rejected by their home institutions.

The most common eduroam connection failures point to a short list of fixable causes: a server missing from the allowlist, a mismatched RADIUS secret, missing realms, or users hand-configuring credentials instead of installing a profile. The fastest way to correct this for most sites is to offer a downloadable profile via the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT), combined with the geteduroam apps, rather than asking users to configure it manually.
