Sectigo, InCommon’s partner in the InCommon Certificate Service, has added the new ACME (Automated Certificate Management Environment) Service for subscribers. The last regular survey of InCommon Certificate Service subscribers showed overwhelming interest in having an ACME service for the InCommon community.
ACME allows the automated issuance and retrieval of certificates, allowing servers and applications to communicate directly and securely to Sectigo’s back-end certificate management system. Campus staff responsible for administering the Certficiate Service have visibility into and management of these certificates in the Sectigo Certificate Manager (SCM).
Sectigo has developed a short video that discusses the benefits of the service.
The InCommon Certificate Service provides unlimited server and user certificates for one annual fee, covering all of an organization’s domains, plus allows for central control with a delegated workflow. More information is available at incommon.org/certificates.
