Will we see you in Milwaukee? InCommon BaseCAMP, coming up August 13-15, 2019, focuses on the basics of identity management, operating in the InCommon Federation, and the InCommon Trusted Access Platform IAM software suite.
This meeting will have a workshop flavor. Sessions will be interactive and focus on common challenges in identity and access management, and solutions that have worked at other organizations. You’ll leave this meeting with myriad ways to help your campus, solve your biggest identity issues and make your job easier (and dare we say more fun?). Examples include:
- Guest systems
- Onboarding
- Managing access control
- Enabling collaboration
The complete program provides details and a list of faculty. We’re bringing experts in all of these areas together to hear your challenges and suggest solutions. The “Federation is a Team Sport” session on the first day, for example, will feature researchers and service operators, including:
- Rachana Ananthakrishnan from Globus, a research data management service operated by the University of Chicago and the Argonne National Laboratory
- Thomas Hauser, director of research computer at the University of Colorado Boulder
- Steve Barnet of the IceCube South Pole Neutrino Observatory
In addition to a multitude of opportunities to connect, and eat donuts, you’ll also find nuts-and-bolts sessions on such topics as:
- Using the InCommon Federation Manager
- Things to consider if you are looking at an IdP as a Service offering
- The CILogon service and national research resources
- The packaged version of Shibboleth
The last day of the workshop will focus on specific operational approaches and software including:
- Grouper
- How DevOps can save time and resources
- midPoint and COmanage registries
- Resources for operating in the cloud
