The InCommon Certificate Service now offers ACME (Automated Certificate Management Environment) Service, which was identified as a priority during our last subscriber survey and has now been implemented by our partner, Sectigo. The last survey of subscribers identified ACME as a priority.
ACME is a protocol that allows servers and applications to communicate directly and securely to Sectigo’s back-end certificate management system for the automated issuance and retrieval of certain types of certificates. This short video discusses the benfits of the ACME protocol. Implementing this new feature is simple and straightforward.
The InCommon Certificate Service provides unlimited certificates for all domains owned or controlled by a higher education institution. This allows for predictable pricing, a comprehensive source, and the ability for delegating requests while maintaining central control. See the details in the Certificate Service portion of our website.
