What is the InCommon Virtual BaseCAMP? Who should attend? I’ve been in IT for 15 years; is there anything for me?
The InCommon Virtual BaseCAMP preview webinar will answer these and more questions. You’ll see a sneak peek of one of the sessions from IAM veteran Tom Jordan (University of Wisconsin-Madison). You’ll also hear the perspective of one of last year’s inaugural BaseCAMP attendee Sarah Borland (University of Nebraska-Lincoln). Both Tom and Sarah, along with other community and staff members will answer your questions and provide additional information.
BaseCAMP is a workshop, presented half-days during the week of July 20, with basic information about identity and access management, the InCommon federation, and the InCommon Trusted Access Platform software and services. Workshop highlights include:
- Monday, July 20 – Introduction to Identity and Access Management
- Tuesday, July 21 – Introduction and Concepts Behind the InCommon Federation and federated identity
- Wednesday, July 22 – Introduction to the InCommon Trusted Access Platform software (Shibboleth, Grouper, COmanage, midPoint). Introduction to authentication and identity registration. Software demos of Shibboleth and COmanage.
- Thursday, July 23 – Trusted Access Platform case studies. Introduction to provisioning and access and grouping. Demos of midPoint and Grouper.
- Friday, July 24 – Putting it all together with project plans and sources for help
This virtual workshop will take place from noon-4:00 pm ET each of the five days. It will include live interactive sessions with the Canvas learning management system platform and Zoom video conference integration.
The InCommon Virtual BaseCAMP website includes a detailed program and registration information. Take a look and plan to attend the June 18 webinar to learn more and ask questions.
