By Jessica Fink, InCommon Community Advocacy Program Manager
InCommon needs enthusiastic volunteers to bring their unique expertise to our community groups. Serving on advisory committees is an excellent way to serve the community, broaden your professional network, and develop and hone leadership skills. We invite you to start thinking about people to nominate for membership, including yourself.
Advisory committees are a next step for someone who has been involved in the community for a few years through working groups, the Collaboration Success Program, or other activities. New community members looking to get involved in the community can look to our list of working groups for how to join.
Committees seeking new members this year are:
- InCommon Steering, see www.incommon.org/about.html
- CACTI (Community Architecture Committee for Trust and Identity), CACTI wiki space
- CTAB (Community Trust and Assurance Board), CTAB wiki space
- InCommon TAC (Technical Advisory Committee), TAC wiki space
You can view charters and public meeting minutes at the links above to learn more about what each committee does, and/or email InCommon Advocacy Program Manager Jessica Fink at jfink@internet2.edu with any questions. A list of current members can be found at https://www.incommon.org/community/leadership/.
Nominations will open on October 1, 2020 and close on October 23, 2020. In addition to contact information, we ask for a description of the strengths and experience the individual would bring, the constituencies they are familiar with, and confirmation of a willingness for the nominees to serve. New terms last three years and will start January 2021.
